a dancer and a filmmaker. Embedded in dance and movement improvisation practice, the film follows an intuitive and embodied logic of how life events cross pollinate. The filmmaker grapples with the paradox of the body as an archive and the ephemerality of dance and motherhood.

Traditional Ballads are typically of unknown authorship, having been passed on orally from one generation to the next. This film was made by Anna Macdonald during her time as Practitioner in Residence at the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, London, the largest law library in Europe. It focuses on the library staff’s decolonising work moving Commonwealth law materials from basement spaces to more central, well-lit areas of the library.
