Dance Goes On is award winning artist, designer and photographer (anothermountainman) Stanley Wong’s first feature length film. Exploring Hong Kong, life and ageing, Dance Goes On builds upon the long friendship between Wong and Hong Kong veteran dance makers Xing LIANG, MUI Cheuk-yin, Yuri NG. It is a discovery of the nature of dance and the city they love through its people, spaces and objects.
As a fundamentally Hong Kong artist, Stanley Wong often engages in social issues related to his hometown. His renowned redwhiteblue series, which represented Hong Kong at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005, explored the changing material culture of that city. His installation artwork Impermanence won the Hong Kong Contemporary Art Award 2012. Wong has exhibited, lectured and taught internationally, and his art can be found in many collections, including Deutsche Bank Collection (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Museum of Art, Groninger Museum (The Netherlands) and Victoria & Albert Museum (UK).
